We are going to host 6+1 volunteers for the next period from 1st of October 2016 to the 31st of July 2017, therefore we are going to apply for the next deadline in April.

• - 6 vacancies are for projects in associations involved in youth and children field in risk of exclusion.(Project description 2016 and Application Form 2016)

Vacante de última hora de Servicio Voluntario Europeo en el Parque Nacional de Koli en Finlandia. Podéis ver la descripción del proyecto a continuación.

Now we have a new EVS volunteer placement at Koli National Park available, quite urgently due to a cancellation. EVS period would begin on the 1.4.2016 and last for 12 months.

1) Metsähallitus – Parks & Wildlife Finland / Koli National Park and Koli Nature Centre Ukko

• Places available: 1 (There will also be another, 27 year old female volunteer from Hungary.)

• Period: 1.4.2016-31.3.2017 (12 months)

• Short description of the hosting organization: We are looking for an EVS volunteer to Koli National Park and Koli Nature Centre Ukko. Koli National Park is one of Finland’s 39 national parks, located in Eastern Finland in the municipality of Lieksa. Koli's hills and lakes provide fine settings for enjoyable outings and activities at any time of year. The Nature Centre Ukko is the heart of the activities and the volunteer's tasks in the national park. The nature centre offers hiking and tourist information services, guided tours, national park rental hut bookings, conference services, and there is also a small café.

• Volunteer’s role and tasks: Tasks vary a lot from customer service tasks in the nature centre to conservation volunteering or construction work in the nature. We are looking for an outdoor-oriented volunteer, who is interested in the Finnish nature and motivated to work outside in different seasons. As a volunteer you might be able to conduct small development project for the nature centre, your day might start with a group if people wanting to get to know the nature centre or you might also get to help at the cafeteria every once in a while. If you have good photography skills or other interests in developing your medias, we are glad to welcome your expertise. All the volunteering tasks are planned with the volunteer as you start.

• Volunteer's requirements: Moderate English skills are required. The work involves often physical labour in field conditions and the volunteer should be able to adopt to a variety of tasks. Our protected areas are located often in remote places where there is not good public transportation, so we are looking for an outdoor-oriented volunteer.

• Accommodation: The volunteer will be offered modest accommodation in a house within walking distance from the nature Centre Ukko. The participant must be able to adapt in modest living conditions.

Call for EVS volunteers!

We are looking for volunteers aged between 18 and 30 years, legally residing in one of the Program or Partner Countries Neighbouring the EU. We seek a balance of varied ages, genders and nationalities amongst our EVS volunteers.

We are not looking for experienced volunteers but those that would learn a lot during the service in a given receiving organization.

Apart from personal motivation of volunteers our requirement is volunteers' strong will of learning Polish language after selection procedure successfully ends. We need selected volunteers to know a few crucial phrases and already have substantial vocabulary of Polish at the moment they start their EVS. Why is this important? Because they will work with disabled children and youth, who often do not speak English or any other language.

We will pay special attention to those candidates that are keen on getting involved in their new local community.

Volunteers will share apartments with other volunteers (from 2 to 5 volunteers in one apartment) and we would like the volunteers sharing one apartment to organize at least one event in their local community (additional to their volunteering working schedule in receiving organizations).

We provide all Erasmus + Program requirements: accommodation, food allowance, pocket money, local transport.

• Short description of the organization: Kisälli-Harjulanmäki is an organization which has two main activities: it has a nursing home called “Harjulanmäki” for mentally disabled people and a workshop called “Kisälli” which provides art and work therapy for disabled people. Kisälli-Harjulanmäki is situated in Vihti, a small town located some 50 kilometers away from the city of Helsinki.

3) Myllylähde-yhteisö

• Short description of the organization: Myllylähde is a village community with adults with special needs. It is a part of the international Camphill movement which was established to work and live with people who have special needs like learning disabilities. In the community all work is shared: teaching, caring, household tasks, gardening and ecological farming. In Camphill Communities the idea is that in the community life where each person contributes according to his/her abilities, what they can towards the well-being of their fellows. The community is based on the general Christian values and principles. The main work activities of Myllylähde are biodynamic agriculture, animal care, gardening, packing of the agriculture products and weavery and handicrafts workshops. All work is done together with adults with special needs.

4) Helsingin lyhytaikaiskoti ja työpaja Lyhty ry / Textile workshop Luovilla

• Short description of the organization: The volunteer works in an arts&crafts workshop "Luovilla" for adults with learning disabilities. The workshop is part of a a non-profit non-governmental association called “Lyhty” which provides housing-, education-, and work activity services for adults with learning disabilities. Lyhty is situated in Helsinki in the Southern Finland.

6) Kirkkopalvelut ry / Seurakuntaopisto

• Short description of the organization: Seurakuntaopisto (The Church Training College) is a private educational learning institution run by Kirkkopalvelut. Seurakuntaopisto has campus areas in Järvenpää, Pieksämäki and Ruokolahti. We have approx. 2000 annual students and approx. 180 employees. Seurakuntaopisto is specialized in social and health care education, the humanities and various church professions. We also offer preparatory training and guidance as well as short courses.
  Although being a mainstream vocational college Seurakuntaopisto offers and develops educational services also for immigrants and people with special needs (caused by learning problems, mental disability etc.). We also organize leisure time activities for the students, because many of them stay in our dormitory during their study weeks. Aim of our background organization Kirkkopalvelut is to build bridges between people, communities and church.
